or so, officials from toyota have now reported that they are taking one of their very popular models off the market after an extremely rare warning from "consumer reports" magazine. it says do not buy the lexus gx 460. toyota owns the upscale lexus brand. "consumer reports" says the suv has a problem with its stabilization system. in short, it could just roll over. drivers for the magazine reported a fishtail effect that could cause the vehicle to upend itself. toyota now reports it will at least for now stop selling the gx 460. we're told the company will conduct its own tests on the suv and then decide what to do next. toyota is already suffering a bruised reputation after it recalled millions upon millions of vehicles because of the problems with their accelerators. now to the adoption outrage and word that the woman who sent back her adopted son with a note attached did it even while she was trying to get another child for adoption. the report comes from abc news information from sources at the sheriff's department. remember the woman in shelbyville, tennessee adopted this kid from r

:42. still ahead, the latest recall ordered by the carmaker toyota. this one involves more than 10,000 subs. and a new iphone, an apple employee may have lost the prototype in a bar. and now pictures of it have been found on the internet. stay with us. >>> toyota is issuing another recall this morning. but this time the company is calling it a quick fix. the automaker has recalled the 2010 lexus gx 460 suv to address a potential roll over problem. nearly 10,000 of the vehicles have been sold in the u.s. since it came out in late december. toyota now says it will fix the problem by updating the stability control software program. in the meantime, sales of the new gx 460s have been temporarily halted. if you go to george washington university or you work there you may want to hold off buying a new ipad. the school says it's its network is having problems with apple's hot new product. gw says use areas can't log onto the network with ipad and may not be able to do so for nearly a year. the problem has to do with the school's authentication system. other colleges including princeton are also ha

that is not such good news is we're in the middle of a war right now. toyota set off the war a month ago because they had to get their numbers back. now everybody had to pile in and the big question here is whether they're pulling ahead sales that won't be there too month from now or getting loyal buyers to come in and spend some money. >> what do you make of that alex merkel? they may be pulling buyers forward and selling the deal, not the car. >> there's probably some buyers that are being pulled forward but at this time last year incentives like these would have fallen on deaf ears. what we're seeing right now and what i believe is we're seeing a turn in the auto industry that is sustainable. we'll see job numbers and we're going to see, we have stabilization in the labor markets and the job numbers are going to look really good tomorrow and as we see stabilization in the labor markets, that is the inflection point. that is where the auto sales start to make their turn. ford has not jumped into the incentive band wagon and still had a 34% increase in sales. so, very good numbers. >> in north

, everyone. >>> today, toyota is agreeing to pay a record fine stemming from its gas pedal problems. tom costello is in washington with more. good morning. >> reporter: today is the deadline for toyota to accept or fight a $16.4 million fine. the company is expected to pay up, the largest fine ever assessed by the government against a car maker. the government alleges toyota knew about sticking gas pedals last september, but hid the effects and issued a recall. toyota is facing mounting civil lawsuits as well as criminal investigations. a $16 million fine for toyota is really not significant, but it is yet another strike against the company's reputation. toyota recalled 2.3 million vehicles in january for the sticking accelerator. the company has recalled more than 8 million vehicles worldwide because of acceleration problems and braking problems. a government official tells nbc news by paying the full civil penalty, toyota is accepting responsibility for hiding this safety defect from nhtsa, the national highway safety administration, in violation of the law. it now has 30 days to write
